Coming of Age as a Traveler

Traveling with Lucy, from Room With a View, would have been much slower than the buses and trains we are able to use today.

When a traveler got to their destination they usually had guidebooks which would tell them what sights to look for.

Lucy uses a book called Baedeker. Oftentimes guidebooks direct their readers towards religious building and artifacts.

However, the ultimate achievement in traveling was to see a new view and gain a new perspective.

  2. I love that your blog begins and ends with horse travel. I also like the comparison of the travel books with today. Our A to Z has really helped us travel!

  3. I really like how you incorporated so much of Lucys travels into your blog. It is almost like you used your own experiences traveling to connect with the story.

  4. Great connections, both visually and intellectually. When you take shots from places you haven't glossed (like National Gallery), tell your readers the name of the painting or what mews (the Royal?) is housing that lovely thoroughbred.
